Terms of Service

1. Who we are
KasiKonnekt (Pty) Ltd ("KasiKonnekt", "we", "us") operates a digital marketplace at kasikonnektza.co.za and via the KasiKonnekt mobile applications (the "Platform") that connects independent service providers ("Workers") with people and businesses seeking informal services ("Hirers").
2. The role of KasiKonnekt
KasiKonnekt is a marketplace and payment intermediary only. We do not employ Workers. Workers are independent contractors. We do not perform, supervise or guarantee the quality, safety, legality or completion of any work.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, legally entitled to work in South Africa, and able to enter a binding contract under South African law to use the Platform.
4. Account and verification
Workers and Hirers register with a valid SA mobile number — no OTP or email confirmation is required to create an account. We may, at our discretion, require additional verification (ID, address, background checks) for certain trust tiers or before releasing payouts. Providing false information is grounds for immediate removal.
5. Fees
Users are never charged for creating accounts, posting jobs, browsing profiles, or making contact. A payment is only made when a Hirer chooses to pay a Worker for a job through the in-app payment system, which is processed by Paystack. KasiKonnekt charges a flat R10 service fee per job, added to the Hirer's total at checkout. The Worker receives 100% of their agreed quote. Payment-processor fees charged by Paystack are also passed through to the Hirer at checkout.
Funds are held safely by Paystack until the job is confirmed complete, then released immediately to the Worker's verified bank account. Fees may change with 30 days' notice. See our Payment Terms.
6. Conduct
You agree not to: post false listings; harass, threaten or discriminate; use the Platform for illegal work; or scrape, reverse-engineer or abuse our systems.
7. Ratings and reviews
Both parties may rate each other. Reviews must be honest and based on actual experience. We may remove reviews that are defamatory, off-topic, or clearly retaliatory.
8. Disputes
We provide a 48-hour dispute window after job completion before funds are released to a Worker. Disputes are reviewed in good faith but our decision is final.
9. Termination
We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms, are reported repeatedly, or pose a safety risk. You may close your account at any time by contacting support.
10. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, KasiKonnekt's liability is limited to fees paid by you to us in the 6 months prior to a claim. We are not liable for damages caused by Workers or Hirers themselves.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
